Madhavan and Arun Vijay to star in Lingusamy's next?

It is being widely speculated that filmmaker N Lingusamy's upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual with Ram Pothineni as the lead will star Madhavan and Arun Vijay in prominent roles. If proven true, the film, tentatively titled RAPO 19, will mark the third collaboration between Lingusamy and Madhavan after Run and Vettai. Likewise, it will mark Arun Vijay's third Telugu film after Bruce Lee and Saaho. However, an official announcement is currently awaited on behalf of the makers.

Lingusamy's last film, Sandakozhi 2 starring Vishal, a sequel to his 2005 film, released in 2018. The new film is being billed as a commercial potboiler, with Ram, who was last seen in this year's Pongal release Red, donning the role of a police officer. The film stars Krithi Shetty, who made her debut with Uppena, as the female lead and features a soundtrack by Devi Sri Prasad.

Meanwhile, Madhavan was last seen in Maara, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video earlier this year. His directorial debut Rocketry: The Nambi Effect was scheduled to release this May but was pushed to an indefinite date due to the resurgence of Covid-19. Likewise, Arun Vijay was last seen in Mafia last year, and has multiple films in his pipeline, including Borrder, Agni Siragugal, Boxer, and Sinam, which are in different stages of production.
