The cast of the Keanu Reeves-headlined John Wick 4 is growing in scale and diversity with each addition. Days after Chinese action superstar Donnie Yen and Japanese-British singer Rina Swayama, and Candian actor Shamier Anderson were announced to have joined the action film franchise, it is now reported that Swedish actor Bill Skarsgård is the latest addition to the film.

Skarsgård, who broke into mainstream stardom with his portrayal of killer clown Pennywise in the 2017 horror film It and its 2019-sequel, has been roped in to play an undisclosed role in the fourth part of the franchise. The films follow a swashbuckling, retired assassin, played by Reeves, who is compelled to turn into his violent past self when his dog, gifted by his late wife, is murdered by a group of Russian criminals.

The first three films in the series have been a hit with critics and audience alike, and the fourth part was initially scheduled to release in June 2021, before being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Helmed by Chad Stahelski, who directed the first three films, the production of John Wick 4 is expected to start next month in France. The film is currently scheduled to release on May 27, 2022.

Skarsgård was last seen in the Netflix film The Devil All the Time and will also be appearing in Naked Singularity alongside John Boyega and Olivia Cooke.
