Toofaan becomes the most-watched Hindi film in its opening week on Prime this year

In a rare instance, Amazon Prime Video has released data about its projects that attracted more viewers on their launch week this year. According to the numbers, actor Farhan Akhtar's Toofaan is in the top position as the most-watched video within the first week of its release globally.

According to the data, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's directorial venture was watched by more customers on Prime Video India than any other Hindi film in its opening week. The film was viewed in over 3,900+ towns and cities in India and 160+ countries and territories across the globe.

In the regional languages category, films Narappa (Telugu), Sarpatta Parambarai (Tamil), and Malik (Malayalam) were each watched in over 3,200+ towns and cities in India and over 150+ countries and territories globally.

In the web series category, Adarsh Gourav's Hostel Daze (S2) emerged as one of the most-loved shows amongst young adults and turned out to be the most-watched show in its launch week with viewership from 3,600+ towns and cities in India and from over 100+ countries and territories around the world.

Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, the film also stars Mrunal Thakur, Paresh Rawal, Darshan Kumar, and Vijay Raaz. The sports drama has music by the Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy trio. It was released on Amazon Prime on July 16.
