Grace Parra Janney and Josh Bycel, the writer pair known for Solar Opposites are teaming up with Eva Longoria's production company UnbeliEVAble Entertainment to develop a single-camera comedy for ABC.

The untitled half-hour series is said to be inspired by Parra Janney's Mexican-American family from Texas. The multi-generational comedy will follow an upper-middle-class family that learns to handle grief, identity and a reevaluation of their roles following the death of the family’s patriarch.

Parra Janney will write and executive produce the project, while Bycel will executive produce alongside Longoria and Spector.

Parra Janney and Bycel are both writer-producers on the animated comedy Solar Opposites. Parra Janney's writing credits include Star Trek: Lower Decks and Broke. She has also appeared on Superstore and as a contributor to The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore.

Bycel has executive produced on multiple shows including Happy Endings and Netflix’s The Big Show Show. He also served as the co-showrunner of the final season of Scrubs. He previously worked with Longoria on her NBC comedy Telenovela.
