Actor-comedian Jackie Mason passes away

Actor and comedian Jackie Mason passed away on Saturday. He was 93.

In a career spanning over six decades, Mason's work comprised performances on radio, television, stage, and films. Some of his earlier performances include The Ed Sullivan Show (1961–68), The Stoolie, and The Jerk.

Mason received his first Emmy and Tony Award in 1987 for solo performance, Jackie Mason’s The World According to Me! which ran for 573 performances. He had a recurring voice role in The Simpsons as the voice of Rabbi Hyman Krustofsky, which bestowed him winning his second Emmy award in 1992.

His most recent performances include Jackie Mason: The Ultimate Jew in 2008 and Jackie Mason: Fearless in 2012.

Mason is survived by his wife, Jyll Rosenfeld, and their daughter.
