Legendary actor Dilip Kumar, who was suffering from age-related health complications, passed away in the early hours of Wednesday. He was 98.

Although yesterday's health update from his actor-wife Saira Banu was encouraging, the condition seems to have worsened since then. The news of his passing away was officially confirmed by the pulmonologist treating the veteran at a Mumbai hospital.

The actor was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) on June 29 after he reportedly complained of breathlessness.

This news has sent shockwaves among fans and celebrities alike. Condolences messages have been pouring in on social media to mourn the death of one of the doyens of Indian cinema.
