Published: 04th July 2021

We had previously reported that Samuthirakani is teaming up with director Subramaniam Siva of Thiruda Thirudi-fame for a film titled Vellai Yaanai. While it was previously confirmed that the film will be skipping a theatrical release and opting for a television premiere, it's now known that the film will be out on Sun TV next Sunday.

This update was announced on the channel's social media accounts. The film will be telecast on July 11 at 3 pm. Incidentally, Samuthirakani's recent release, Aelay, too skipped a theatrical release and took the direct-to-television route.

Produced by S Vinodh Kumar under his Mini Studios banner, Vellai Yaanai stars Manam Kothi Paravai-fame Athmiya Rajan as the female lead. She was recently seen in the Amazon Prime Video film, Cold Case, also starring Prithviraj and Aditi Balan.

Yogi Babu, E Ramadas, Moorthi, SS Stanley and Bava Chelladurai are also part of the film, which has music by Santhosh Narayanan.
