Director Santo Anthikad has completed Choran, a thriller filmed entirely at night. Choran is the second outing of actor Dr Praveen Rana, who plays the protagonist. Interestingly, his first film Anan is about to begin its second schedule.

The makers say the film is coming at a time when the Abhaya case revealed a witness who happened to be a thief with a heart of gold. The protagonist of Choran is also said to be a similar character. It was completed just a few days before the judgement on the Abhaya case came out.

The film went on floors on November 24 and was wrapped up in 15 days. Santo Anthikad says the night shoot was to ensure the dark mood suited for the story. "Choran is probably be the first movie in India to have been shot throughout nights," he said.

Remya Panicker of Chunkzz and Porinju Mariam Jose fame plays the female lead. The film sees her collaborating again with her Porinju Mariam Jose co-star Sinoj Varghese, who rose to popularity through Angamaly Diaries. Sinoj said Choran was a challenging experience as he had to shoot for the film in one go.

Produced by Prajith KM for Rana's Film Factory, Choran is scripted by Stanly Antony and photographed by Suresh Babu. It is also the fifth film of lyricist and composer Kiran Jose.
