Shruti Haasan is playing a lead role in one of the segments in the upcoming Telugu anthology, Pitta Kathalu. Titled xLife, Shruti's segment is directed by Nag Ashiwn of Mahanati fame.

Based on the trailer, the segment appears to tell a sci-fi story set in the future. Shruti is playing a character named Divya who, according to the actor, is her polar opposite.

Shruti said, "When I read the script, I realised that Divya is so unlike me yet she is very relatable to all of us. We are polar opposites. The journey of playing Divya and discovering her nuances was exciting because the less you have in common with the character, the more interesting it is. I personally felt responsible for playing her with the balance and grace that the character required."

xLife also stars Sanjith Hegde, Sangeeth Shobhan, Anish Kuruvilla, Dayanand Reddy, and Thanmayi in pivotal roles.

Pitta Kathalu, a Netflix Original, also has three other segments directed by Tharun Bhascker, BV Nandini Reddy, and Sankalp Reddy. The film has an ensemble cast that includes Lakshmi Manchu, Amala Paul, Jagapati Babu, and Satyadev Kancharana.

The anthology is set for release on February 19.
