Actor Yashika Aannand took to Instagram to share her guilt about the accident that killed her friend Pavani. The actor wrote on Instagram, "I really can’t express what I’m going through right now! I will forever feel guilty to be alive!! I don’t know if I should thank god for saving me from that tragic accident or blame god whole my life for taking away my bestest friend away from me.”

She also shared the picture of the departed and wrote, "I really miss u each second Pavani. I know you can never forgive me!! I’m really sorry I put your family in such a horrible situation. Just know I miss u each second and I’m forever guilty to be alive. Hope your soul rests in peace. I pray you come back to me!! Hope someday your family forgives me! I’II forever cherish our memories paw! (sic)"

Yashika, Pavani, and two friends met with an accident on July 25 in ECR Road. While Yashika sustained grievous injuries, her friend Valli Chetty Pavani died on the spot.

Yashika is currently undergoing treatment in a private hospital. The actor said she is suffering from multiple fractures, and it would take months for her to stand and walk.

The actor is facing severe backlash online for the accident, and she is being accused of drunk and driving. However, in an interview with The Hindu, Yashika has claimed that she was sober and was not overspeeding.

She was quoted as saying, "I have to stress on this: I was not drunk or intoxicated, or using drugs of any kind. It was an unfortunate accident that happened out of nowhere, because of a moment’s lapse in concentration. And for that, I take full responsibility. I’m wrecked by the guilt of staying alive, and now I have to live forever with this."

Yashika, who started her career as a model, made her acting debut with the film Kavalai Vendaam. She later rose to fame with her stint at the Bigg Boss Tamil reality show. The actor has also acted in films Dhruvangal Pathinaaru, Zombie, and Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu.
