Monal Gajjar lands a role in Nagarjuna Akkineni's Bagarraju

Actor Monal Gajjar, who was last seen in a special appearance in Alludu Adhurs, has now landed a prominent role in Nagarjuna Akkineni's upcoming socio-fantasy film Bangarraju. She will be stepping into the shoes of Rambha -- one of the celestial nymphs of Hindu mythology.

"We have signed Monal for Bangarraju. Her character is of an Apsara, who lives in Amaravati (Indraloka). For the first time, she will try her hand at comedy and will also groove to a foot-tapping song with Nagarjuna and others in the film. These sequences are going to be one of the highpoints of the film," says a source.

Directed by Kalyan Krishna Kurasala, Bangarraju is the sequel to his 2016 blockbuster Soggade Chinni Nayana. While Ramya Krishna is reuniting with Nagarjuna for the sequel, actors Naga Chaitanya and Kriti Shetty are the new additions to the cast.

According to reports, the sequel, which is set in Rajahmundry, will pick up from where the first part ended. The makers are planning to launch the film on August 20 and complete the entire production by November. Bangarraju is slated to hit the screens in summer 2022.
