Shankar on KV Anand's demise: I lost a dear friend

Filmmaker Shankar mourned the demise of KV Anand, who passed away early this morning. The Enthiran-filmmaker took to Twitter to share his grief, and wrote, "Absolutely shocked. My heart feels so heavy... painful. Just can’t digest."

Shankar added, "I lost a very dear friend. KV, a wonderful cinematographer and a brilliant director. This loss can never be compensated. I will miss you, my dear friend. RIP. My deepest condolences to his family and friends."

KV Anand handled the cinematography for Shankar's Boys, Sivaji, Mudhalavan, and its Hindi remake Nayak: The Real Hero. The Rajinikanth-starrer Sivaji was KV Anand's last feature film as a cinematographer before he went on to pursuing direction.

KV Anand, 54, is survived by his wife and daughter.
