Netflix's Master of None season 3 to premiere in May

The much-awaited third season of Netflix's Master of None will premiere next month, according to the streamer.

Created by Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang, the comedy-drama series premiered with its first season in 2015, and the second season returned in 2017.

According to Variety, the third season will take a detour from the previous seasons and focus on Lena Waithe's character Denise. Earlier there were reports that Naomi Ackie (The End of the F***ing World) would join the cast for the third season.

In 2015, the first season won Ansari and Yang an Emmy for writing. In 2017, Waithe and Ansari won an Emmy for outstanding comedy writing for the Season 2 episode Thanksgiving.

The show ran into trouble when Ansari was accused of sexual misconduct in January 2018. Due to the online firestorm that followed the #MeToo accusation, Ansari stepped out of public view and moved to London. Eventually, Ansari released a stand-up tour for Netflix titled Right Now, in which the actor addressed the accusations.
