Sound of Metal and Soul register a resounding win at Cinema Audio Society Awards

The Cinema Audio Society Awards have been announced in a virtual event on Saturday. Sound of Metal was honoured with Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing in the Live-action Motion Picture category, while Soul bagged the award under the Animated Motion Picture category.

Incidentally, both Sound of Metal and Soul are nominated for Best Picture and Best Animated Feature Film, respectively, at the 93rd Academy Awards scheduled to take place on April 25th.

Other recipients of the sound mixing awards include The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend A Broken Heart in the Documentary category and The Queen’s Gambit episode titled Middle Game under the Non-Theatrical Motion Picture or Limited Series category.

Furthermore, Sound Mixer William B. Kaplan, who has worked on over 150 films including Forrest GumpTop Gun, Crimson Tide, and Back to the Future, was honoured with CAS Career Achievement Award.
