Nasser on Vivekh's demise: Irreplaceable to society and cinema; I lost a friend

Reacting to the demise of veteran actor and comedian Vivekh, actor Nassar has said that the news left him shocked and saddened and that the artiste is irreplaceable to this society and to the world of cinema.

"He was an actor with a kind heart, a social activist, and a dear friend. In his career, Vivekh has won five National Awards, five State Government awards for comedy, and titles like Kalaimamani, Chinna Kalaivaanar, Padma Shri, People's Artist, and more. He was the only actor who was a friend of former Indian President, Mr  Abdul Kalam. The death of such an artist is shocking," he said in a statement.

Nassar added that for over 34 years, since his debut, Vivekh graced the hearts of the people through his comedy, social consciousness, and rational thinking. "He was a kind person who held a place in the hearts of not just people from the world of cinema, but also of fans, political, and social leaders. His mission to plant 1 crore saplings popularised him as an ecologically aware person. His activities led many to follow his path."

Expressing his condolences to Vivekh's family and friends, Nassar said that he has lost a friend.
