Vivekh in critical condition; may not be due to COVID vaccine

The statement from the hospital said, "This is an acute coronary syndrome with cardiogenic shock. This is a separate cardiac event. It may not be due to COVID vaccination."

We earlier reported that ace comedian Vivekh was rushed to a private hospital today after reportedly suffering a heart attack. The actor is currently undergoing treatment at SIMS hospital in Vadapalani, Chennai. An official statement from the hospital reports that the actor is in critical condition. 

The statement reads, "Vivek was brought to the hospital in an unconscious state by 11:00 am today to the emergency by the family members. He was resuscitated in the emergency room by specialists. Later, he underwent Emergency Coronary Angiogram followed by Angioplasty. He is currently in critical condition on ECMO (Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) in the Intensive Care Unit."

The Director of the hospital, in the statement, also added, "This is an acute coronary syndrome with cardiogenic shock. This is a separate cardiac event. It may not be due to COVID vaccination."

Meanwhile, Dr J Radhakrishnan, TN Health Secretary, has issued a statement denying any relation between the COVID vaccination and the actor's current health condition. He states that multiple tests have been done on actor Vivekh and no link to the vaccine has been found.

The Padma Shri awardee has acted in over 150 films. He was last seen alongside Harish Kalyan in 2020's Dharala Prabhu. Vivekh's upcoming releases include Yaadhum Oore Yaavarum Kelir, starring Vijay Sethupathi, and he is also reportedly a part of Shankar's Indian 2
