

The upcoming sports drama Toofan, starring Farhan Akthar, which was scheduled for release on May 21 on Amazon Prime Video has been postponed. The producers of the film, ROMP Pictures and Excel, issued an official statement explaining their decision to hold the film for the time being.
The statement read, "The situation in India is truly heartbreaking, and we at Excel Entertainment and ROMP Picture send our thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by the pandemic. In light of the severity of the situation, our focus is completely on the pandemic and on supporting our employees, their families, and in helping the wider community. Therefore, we have taken the decision to postpone the release of our film Toofan until the situation improves."
The makers added, "We will issue an update regarding the new release date in due course of time."
Directed by Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra, Toofan marks the second collaboration between Farhan Akthar and the director after the 2013 film Bhaag Milka Bhaag.
Toofan also features Mrunal Thakur, Paresh Rawal, Supriya Pathak Kapur, and Hussain Dalal.
