A sequel to the 19996 bowling comedy Kingpin, starring Woody Harrelson, is in the making by producers Peter and Bobby Farrelly and Village Roadshow Pictures.

Kingpin starred Woody Harrelson as bowling prodigy Roy Munson, who is deceived into joining a con job that leaves him with a crippled hand for the rest of his life. Years later, a poverty-struck Roy stumbles upon his rise to fame in the form of Amish bowling phenom, Ishmael, played by Randy Quaid.

Bill Murray co-starred as bowling legend Big Ern McCracken alongside Vanessa Angel, Chris Elliott, Rob Moran and Lin Shaye.

The plot, setting and period of the Kingpin sequel are being kept under wraps, and additional cast and crew members are still being finalised now. As of now, it's unclear whether the Farrelly brothers will direct or pen the screenplay for the sequel. The first film though was written by Barry Fanaro and Mort Nathan.
