The upcoming Tamil film Andhagan, an official adaptation of Hindi film Andhadhun, is on track for a September release, the makers announced.

The team has wrapped up a shooting schedule on July 28, and will be canning an overseas schedule next month, which will mark the completion of the principal photography. The post-production activities are currently in progress.

The remake will see actor Prashanth stepping into the shoes of a pianist essayed by Ayushmann Khurrana in the 2018 original. The Tamil film features Priya Anand and Simran in the roles played by Radhika Apte and Tabu, respectively, in the original, while Karthik, Samuthirakani, and Leela Samson will be appearing in supporting roles.

Directed by Thiagarajan, the film is being bankrolled by Staar Movies.

Interestingly, Andhadhun is also being remade in Telugu, titled Maestro starring Nithiin, Tamannaah, and Nabha Natesh.
