Sibi Raj: Master, Eeswaran gave the confidence for Kabadadaari's release

The audio launch and press meet of Kabadadaari, starring Sibi Raj and Nandita Swetha, was held earlier today at Prasad Lab in Chennai.

Directed by Pradeep Krishnamoorthy, the crime-thriller also has Nassar, Jayaprakash and J Satish Kumar in pivotal roles. The film is the Tamil remake of the Kannada blockbuster Kavaludaari.

The film, which was initially scheduled to be released in May 2020, faced a setback due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Producer G Dhananjayan of Creative Entertainers and Distributors stated that even if things got tough during the lockdown, director Pradeep's positivity was felt throughout by the crew. "Even during the lockdown, Pradeep kept chiseling the film and that is really commendable," he said.

T Siva of Amma Creations felt that after the lockdown, cinema is finally getting back to its feet with big releases. "When Tamil Cinema was struggling, Master came like a saviour and now we have another film coming to theatres," he added.

Vijay Antony, who released the audio of the film during the show, concurred. He said, "At a time like this, Master has encouraged the audience to come to theatres, and I hope the audience will support and watch Kabadadaari and all the upcoming releases in theatres."

Sibi Sathyaraj, who plays the role of a traffic cop investigating a 30-year-old crime in the film, also mirrored the thought when he said that it was only because of Master's and Eeswaran's release that Team Kabadadaari got the confidence for the release.

The film's female lead Nandita Swetha stated that she has given her all for the role. "Even if I appear for just two minutes, I always want to do justice to that role. I thank the entire team for the opportunity. It was a lovely, unique experience," she said.

The trailer of the film was recently launched and it gives glimpses of intense storytelling. Kabadadaari has music by Simon K King, cinematography by Rasamathi, and editing by Praveen KL. The film is slated for release on January 28.
