In a surprise announcement, director Selvaraghavan and his brother and actor Dhanush have revealed that they will be teaming up for the much-hyped Aayirathil Oruvan 2. The announcement was made by the director through his Twitter handle, along with an animated poster of a man facing a mystical desert.
Thanking the fans who celebrated the film over the years, he wrote,
Dhanush stated that the pre-production work of the film alone will take about a year and it will hit the screens in 2024.
It may be noted that Dhanush had announced a week ago that he will be working with Selvaraghavan, cinematographer Aravind Krishna, and composer Yuvan Shankar Raja for a new film.
On the other hand, Selvaraghavan had announced in March that he will be working with Dhanush on Pudhupettai 2 soon. There is no clarity on whether the hit combo will be joining forces again for both Aayirathil Oruvan 2 or Pudhupettai 2.
The director is yet to update whether the lead actors of Aayirathil Oruvan — Karthi, Reema Sen and Andrea Jeremiah — will be part of the sequel too.
Apart from these two directorials, Selvaraghavan will be making his acting debut alongside Keerthy Suresh in the Arun Matheswaran film, Saani Kaayidham.
