Child actor Chloe Coleman has joined the cast of Dungeons & Dragons. Directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley (Spider-Man: HomecomingGame Night), the film stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, and Justice Smith in the lead. The director duo is writing a new version of the script based on a draft by Michael Gilio.

According to Deadline, Coleman, who recently starred in My Spy alongside Dave Bautista, is set to join the stacked ensemble cast of Dungeons & Dragons. which also includes many other Hollywood up-and-comers like Sophia Lillis (It, It 2), Justice Smith (All The Bright Places), and Regé-Jean Page (Bridgerton)

Dungeons & Dragons was first adapted into a film in 2000. The film, which starred Justin Whalin, Marlon Wayans, and Jeremy Irons, was a flop.

The upcoming version has been in the works for years. It was first meant to be made by Warner Bros with Ansel Elgort considered for the lead role. At the time, filmmaker Rob Letterman was on board to direct the movie. Now, the film has moved to Paramount. The studio is co-producing and co-financing the film with Hasbro and eOne. The film is slated for release on May 27, 2022.

Coleman is known for starring in Marry Me, alongside Owen Wilson and Jennifer Lopez. She also has 65 coming up with Adam Driver, and is set to star in James Cameron's highly anticipated Avatar 2.
