Dhanush joins Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas in Netflix's The Gray Man

The Russo Brothers film, a spy thriller, also stars Jessica Henwick, Wagner Moura, and Julia Butters

We had earlier reported that Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, and Ana de Armas are headlining the Russo Brothers' upcoming spy thriller, The Gray Man. Now, it has come to light that Dhanush will play an important role in the Netflix film.

Announcing this development on social media, Netflix also shared that actors Jessica Henwick, Wagner Moura, and Julia Butters will join the project.

Based on Mark Greaney's 2009 novel of the same name, The Gray Man revolves around freelance assassin and former CIA operative Court Gentry (Gosling). It follows Gentry as he is hunted across the world by Lloyd Hansen (Evans), a former member of Gentry's CIA team.

Anthony and Joe Russo will be producing the project through their AGBO banner. Joe Russo wrote the script, with Avengers: Endgame screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely working on the final draft. AGBO's Mike Larocca, and Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum for Roth Kirschenbaum, are also on board as producers.

The makers are planning to start filming in January in Los Angeles. The locations are still being finalised.

This will be Dhanush's second English language film after The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir (2018). The actor recently wrapped up the shooting of Mari Selvaraj's next, Karnan, and is awaiting the release of Karthik Subbaraj's Jagame Thandhiram. He has a bunch of other interesting projects in the pipeline including Atrangi Re, Karthick Naren's next, and projects with Ramkumar and Selvaraghavan.
