Srikanth, Vetri to star in psycho-thriller titled Theengirai

Actors Srikanth and Vetri are collaborating on a project titled Theengirai. Directed by debutant Prakash Raghavadas, the film is said to be a psycho crime-thriller. Apoorva Rao has been roped in to play the female lead, and Nizhalgal Ravi will also be seen portraying an important character.

Director Prakash, who has written the story, screenplay, and dialogues, says that the story has no specific antagonist. "The story is about a prey which turns evil and decides to hunt the hunter. Sometimes, even situations can hunt you. In Theengirai, situations are the antagonists, and how a character fights those situations make the story. People will understand what I mean after the release."

On casting the leads, Prakash says, "This character needed someone who looks like Srikanth, and the audience will see Vetri perform a role which is very different from what he has done till now."

Produced by AK Kumar of Sahana Studios, the shooting for Theengirai is currently underway, with the team shooting in and around Chennai. The makes are currently aiming for a release by May or April.

The music for the film will be handled by Prakash Nikki. Kiran Koushik is on board as the cinematographer, while Manikumaran Sankara will take charge of the editing.

Vetri, who is known for his roles in 8 Thottakkal and Jiivi, will also be seen in another upcoming psychological thriller, Memories, directed by Syam and Praveen. He has Hemambar Jasthi’s C/o Kaadhal, the Tamil remake of the Telugu hit C/o Kancharapalem, in the pipeline as well.

Srikanth, on the other hand, has Sambavam, Maha, Un Kadhal Irundhal, and Miruga coming up.
