Jump Shot, documentary on legendary basketball player Kenny Sailors, to get digital release

The documentary on the life of legendary basketball player Kenny Sailors, Jump Shot, is all set for digital release between April 16-18, with 10 per cent of the revenue being directed to coronavirus relief.

It features interviews of several basketball players including Lou Carnesecca, Kevin Durant, Dirk Nowitzki, Bob Knight, Nancy Lieberman, and Clark Kellogg, among others. The documentary, from executive producer Stephen Curry and Unanimous Media, details the origin of the jump shot, which was popularised by Kenny Sailors.

Before the outbreak of coronavirus, the producers had planned a one-day theatrical release on April 2. However, due to the current crisis that has led to the closure of theatres across several parts of the world, the makers have opted for digital release of the 79-minute documentary.

Directed by Jacob Hamilton, Jump Shot premiered at SXSW and bagged several awards.
