International Day of Sign Languages: When Rasika Dugal learnt sign language for Tu Hai Mera Sunday

On International Day of Sign Languages, actor Rasika Dugal recalled the time she learnt sign language for Tu Hai Mera Sunday (2017). In the feel-good comedy directed by Milind Dhaimade, Rasika had played Tasneem, a mother to two hearing-impaired children. The actor had learned sign language for the part and was appreciated for it.

“Sign language is a language like any other. My co-actors who played my children in the film are hearing impaired, and I felt I needed to learn the language they used so I could communicate with them, even if the role didn't necessarily ask that of me,” Rasika shared.

Tu Hai Mera Sunday revolves around a group of five friends and what follows when their Sunday soccer game on the beach is cancelled.

Moving forward, Rasika awaits the Netflix release of Mira Nair's A Suitable Boy, Mirzapur Season 2, Delhi Crime Season 2 and Out Of Love Season 2.
