Director Jonathan Mostow, known for helming Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and Breakdown, will direct a refugee thriller.
According to reports, Mostow will also write the script, which is based on American businessman Chris Catrambone, who founded a global search and rescue charity, Migrant Offshore Aid Station. Catrambone’s efforts have reportedly helped in rescuing 40,000 refugees at sea.
Notably, Mostow had earlier directed U-571, starring Matthew McConaughey which happens on a submarine.
Production of the upcoming untitled project will begin late next year. Screenwriter and producer Scott Gardenhour, who has been associated with films like Armageddon, Coyote Ugly, and Pearl Harbor, will produce Mostow’s project.
Mostow’s last film was the 2017 Sam Worthingtin-starrer The Hunter’s Prayer.
