Actor Sikha Malhotra has volunteered to work with a BMC hospital in Mumbai amid the coronavirus outbreak. The actor, who starred alongside Sanjay Mishra in Kaanchli (2020), has a graduate degree in nursing. 

This is the first time Sikha is working as a nurse, having availed permission to assist during the ongoing crisis. She has been delegated to the isolation ward at the Hinduhrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Trauma Hospital in Jogeshwari. 

Sharing pictures from her rounds, Sikha wrote, “For those who don’t know,  I am a registered Bsc Honours nurse from Vardhaman Mahavir Medical &  Safdarjung Hospital. Sharing a glance of my working hours in the hospital.” 

She added, “So as you all have always appreciated my efforts my achievements this time I need your support to serve the nation once again. This time I’ve decided to join the hospital in Mumbai to tackle the Covid19 crisis. I am always there to serve the country as a nurse, an entertainer or whoever I can be. Need your blessings. Please be at home. Be safe and support the government. Thank you so much mom for making me what I am today Jai Hind.” Notably, Sikha’s mom is also a nurse and an actor.
