Following an Instagram post by actor Abhay Deol claiming that he and co-star Farhan Akhtar were 'demoted' by award shows for their film, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, actor Ashwin Kakumanu has opened up about the 'marginalisation and trivialisation' that 'happens on every level'.
Ashwin wrote, "Realised how much I had bottled in over the years. People who ignore and marginalise your efforts or worth, humiliate you and of course backstabbing (the list wouldn't be complete without that one) all the bitter experiences people go through just to do what they love doing."
The actor further shared how his name was omitted in a recent video that mentioned the director and all other lead actors in his film, Idhu Vedhalam Sollum Kathai. He questioned if the omission was an 'afterthought' and wrote, "People like to back the winning horse or what they think the winning horse is going to be."
its ironic and only reinforces that people like to back the winning horse or what they think the winning horse is going to be. And its sad that this mentality is everywhere, about numbers, markets, and 'mass bro', instead of the work.
One of Ashwin's popular roles is as police officer Ganesh in Ajith's Mankatha. He has also been seen in films such as Zero, Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara, and 7aum Arivu. His future projects include Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan, Thollaikatchi, and Idhu Vedhalam Sollum Kathai.
