Madhan Karky refutes rumours of Vairamuthu suffering from cardiac issues

Earlier today, it was reported that lyricist Vairamuthu had been hospitalised. Over the course of the day, various conflicting reports emerged suggesting that the lyricist was suffering from cardiac issues and had been admitted to a hospital in Chennai.

However, speaking to Cinema Express, his son and noted lyricist Madhan Karky refuted such rumours. "It was just a health check-up. We went in and came back home in two hours," he said.

Vairamuthu has written about 7500 songs in Tamil and is known for his command over the Tamil language. The lyricist was called out during the #MeToo Movement by multiple women, including singer Chinmayi.
