Hrithik Roshan to star in The Burning Train remake?

Released in 1980, the classic disaster thriller featured Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Vinod Khanna, Parveen Babi, Jeetendra, and others

Earlier this month, producers Juno Chopra and Jackkie had announced an upcoming remake of The Burning Train. Released in 1980, the classic disaster thriller starred Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Vinod Khanna, Parveen Babi, Jeetendra, and others. The plot centred on a newly-launched express train that catches fire on its inaugural journey.

While the makers are yet to finalise the new cast, reports suggest that Hrithik Roshan has been approached to play one of the leads. As per reports, the producers are keen on having Hrithik headline the project. The actor’s recent films, Super 30 and War, were big hits at the box-office, with War emerging as the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2019.

The Burning Train remake was expected to go on floors later this year. However, owing to the nationwide coronavirus lockdown, the film is presently on hold.

Speaking about the project, Jackkie had earlier stated, “The Burning Train is a film that I grew up watching, and I'm sure many of us did. It's a classic in Bollywood and I'm thrilled to be working with my dear friend Juno to try and recreate the magic that (director) Ravi Chopra sir had done years ago. It's a film with its heart in the right place and we are all set to give it our all.”
