Sonakshi Sinha appeared as a celebrity guest alongside contestant Ruma Devi on last night’s episode of Kaun Banega Corepati. During a round, the duo was asked a question related to the Ramayana, which both struggled to answer. The question was: “According to the Ramayana, Hanuman fetched the Sanjeevani herb for whom?"

Sonakshi initially guessed ‘Sita’ and ‘Rama’ as the correct answer. Unable to decide on an option, the contestants availed the help of KBC expert Shweta Jha through the ‘Ask The Expert’ lifeline. Although Shweta pointed them to the right answer, it didn’t stop internet trolls from laying into Sonakshi’s lack of knowledge about the Ramayana.

Soon, #YoSonakshiSoDumb started trending on Twitter, with several trolls pointing out the connections between Sonakshi’s family and the Ramayana. Sonakshi’s father, actor Shatrughan Sinha, is named after the brother of Ram and Lakshman. Sonakshi’s own brothers are named Luv and Kush, and her paternal house is called Ramayana.

Responding to the trolls, Sonakshi tweeted today that she loves memes and would like more jokes about other subjects she doesn’t remember besides the Ramayana.

Bollywood celebrities have been trolled for their lack of general knowledge before. In 2013, actor Alia Bhatt had famously misnamed the then President of India on Koffee With Karan season 4, leading to massive trolling.
