At the pre-release event for the Telugu version in Hyderabad, director Atlee said, "Atrocities against women is one of the major topics of discussion in our country today. So, we thought of making an emotional film which can make a difference to the society, highlighting such issues in an artistic way. I urge every individual to watch Whistle as every character brings a sense of relatability. I am glad that Whistle is releasing in over 700 theatres in Telugu."

Further, the Raja Rani director stated that he would direct a Telugu film soon and dropped a hint that it might feature Jr NTR in the lead role. "I am indebted to the Telugu audience. I have been longing to direct a Telugu film and my wish is going to be fulfilled soon. Jr NTR is a good-hearted and transparent person. He always leaves a heart-warming message for my every film and I am thankful for his support."

Produced by AGS Entertainment, Whistle is being released in Telugu by Mahesh S Koneru through East Coast Productions banner.
