The Tamil trailer of Frozen 2, the sequel to Disney’s Frozen was launched today at an event in Chennai. Frozen 2 Tamil will have Shruti Haasan voice Elsa, Divyadharshini dubbing for Elsa’s sister Anna, and comedian Sathyan lending his voice for the character Olaf. The Tamil dialogues and songs have been penned by lyricist Vivek, who is venturing into dialogue writing with this film.
“I have always been fascinated with dialogues and this is my first attempt at writing them. I believe that even as adults we should never forget the child within us, and this is one such film. So I'm extremely happy to be part of this film,” said Vivek.
Divyadharshini who took the stage after Vivek began by saying how every young girl would have compared herself to a Disney princess. “I believe everyone can be a princess if they get the opportunity. The special thing about the Frozen sisters is though there's a prince, they're not just waiting for him to sweep them off their feet. They continue to do what they want to,” she said. She further added that the dubbing process was quite challenging as she doesn’t have much experience dubbing for other characters.
Echoing Divyadharshini’s thoughts about strong women, Shruti also shared that Elsa’s strength was a trait that she really liked. “When I was approached, there was nothing to think. I love the character. She is a princess who is independent and is an inspiration.” She further added that the bond Elsa shares with her sister Anna helped her connect to the character. “I have a beautiful relationship with Akshara, so it was very relatable. But Dhivyadharshini's dubbing really helped me build the sister bond on screen. So I definitely credit her for that.” The actor also shared that while she took only a single day to dub, she found the songs particularly challenging to sing.
