Rachita Ram is currently one of the busiest heroines in Kannada cinema. Earlier, it was rumoured that she was teaming up with Rishi for a project, jointly produced by Yogaraj Bhat and Shashank. However, it looks like she has joined hands first with Prajwal Devaraj for Veeram, the directorial debut of Khadar Kumar. The director, who started out as a scriptwriter, was an associate director for films like Shravani Subramanya and Shivalinga.

Veeram is being made under the banner of Disha entertainments, which began its journey with D/O of Parvathamma.

The first look of Veeram, which was launched in September, revealed that Prajwal is playing a fan of the legendary actor Vishnuvardhan.

Veeram is touted to be an action-packed romantic drama, and the team is currently in the process of finalising the technicians and the rest of the cast. The project is likely to go on floors by the end of December or early 2020, and will depend on Prajwal’s other commitments. The actor also has projects such as Inspector Vikram, Arjun Gowda, Gentleman, and a film with filmmaker Ramnarayan. He will also collaborate with director PC Shekar for a multilingual film.

Rachita, who made her silver screen debut with the Darshan-starrer Bulbul, is now juggling between commercial entertainers and experimental films. The actor, who is currently shooting for Prem’s upcoming directorial, Ek Love Ya, starring Raana, is also awaiting her next big release, Ayushman Bhava, which stars Shivarajkumar.

In addition to this, Rachita has completed the shoot for Ramesh Aravind’s directorial 100, and is also looking forward to starting the shoot for April and Daali, which will be followed by Veeram, among other films.
