Ramesh Aravind-Akash Srivatsa film titled Shivaji Surathkal

Akash Srivatsa, who is through with thirty per cent of the shooting for his next film, has finalised the project’s title as Shivaji Surathkal. 

Ramesh Aravind plays the titular character and he is a detective in the film.  “We came up with the title after a long brainstorming session. Ramesh and I were thinking of a unique combination of two names, and finally, we chose Shivaji and Surathkal,” says Akash.

About the first look of the film, which was released along with the title, he says, “Ramesh has two shades in the film, and we have tried to break his regular image. The character he plays is very angry, moody, unpredictable, and he's not nice to people, unlike Ramesh's usual persona. His native place is Mangaluru, he is based in Mysuru, and travels to Madikere to investigate the case. Seventy per cent of the shoot is pending and the next schedule will resume from Monday. Radhika Chetan and Arohi Narayan will also be joining the sets then."

The script of the film is written by Akash and Abhishek. The director reveals that Ramesh is pushing them in the right direction and promises that it'll be a one-of-a-kind film. He also hopes to turn it into a franchise and has already prepared two more scripts with different cases. “Today if I am directing this film, it is mainly out of the confidence Ramesh has in us. Every time we sit down for talks, the script has only got better,” he says.
