KS Ashoka made a sensation in 2013 with the found-footage genre Kannada film 6-5=2, which was remade in Hindi and Telugu. The director is now getting ready with his second project.

Titled Dia, the project sees him teaming up him with producer D Krishna Chaitanya for the second time. It is touted to a romantic drama with starring newbie Kushi in the lead, and co-starring Deekshit Shetty of TV-series Naagini fame. Dia's first poster was unveiled by the makers today.

Ashoka, who has also written the film's screenplay, has yet again come up with a fresh concept by telling a love story without songs. He says this is a pattern of filmmaking by European, and in particular, French filmmakers and he was inspired to use "situation-based instrumental tunes instead of songs."

Dia, with background score by Ajaneesh B Loknath, is now in the post production stage. Made under Family Film Factory, Dia's camerawork is handled by two cinematographers, Vishal Vittal and Sourabh Waghmare. The film will be distributed by Karthik Gowda under KRG studios, a sister concern of Hombale Films.
