Bigg Boss Tamil 3 kicks off: Final list of contestants is here.

The third season of the Tamil reality show, Bigg Boss, premiered on Sunday night, with Kamal Haasan returning to host the controversial reality show for the third consecutive time. Bigg Boss is based on Big Brother, a Dutch reality show, and has been adapted in many countries around the world.

The show will feature 15 contestants, who  will have to live together in a flamboyantly-designed house, away from any contact with the outside world, facing multiple challenges designed to push their patience and all the time surrounded by 60 cameras.

Last year, the winner of Bigg Boss Season 2 Tamil, Riythvika, took home Rs. 50 lakh in prize money.

This season, in addition to the Kollwyood celebrities, the show also has two Sri Lankan contestants and one Malaysian Tamil contestant, thereby making it the first Bigg Boss show that’s both regional and international at the same time.

 The final lisr of participants are:

1. Abhirami Venkatachalam

A model-turned actorm who made her acting debut in Kalavu (2019) with Kalaiyarasan and Karunakaran. She is also known for her role in the web series, Ctrl Alt Delete.

2. Director cheran

A four-time National Award winner, known for films likr Vetri Kodi Kattu (2000), Autograph (2004) and Thavmai Thavamirundhu (2005). He last directed the family drama,, Thirumanam - Sila Thiruthangaludan

3. Paruthiveeran Saravanan

A hero of the 90s, who shot to fame as a character artise in Ameet's Paruthiveeran, for which he won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor.

4. Fathima Babu

A former news anchor from Doordarshan, who has also starred in multiple Malayalam and Tamil films

5. Sakshi Agarwal

An actor with multiple ad films to her credit, she is also an Instagram star with over 1.6 lakh followers. Seen in Kaala and Viswasam, Sakshi has signed a couple of new films.

6. Vanitha Vijayakumar

Daughter of veteran film actor Vijaykumar and Manjula, Vanitha made her acting debut in Chandralekha (1995) opposite Vijay In 2018, her father filed an eviction notice against her for illegally staying in a house belonging to him. Vanitha, in turn, had alleged police brutality following her father’s complaint against her. 

7. 'Jaangiri' Madhumitha

Madhumitha started her career with Vijay TV's comedy show in Lollu Sabha. Her first feature film was Oru Kal Oru Kannadi. which got her famous for her nicknames in the movie, Jaangiri and Thaenada. 

8. Tharshan Thiyagarajah

A professional model based out of Jaffna, Sri Lanka, Tharshan was Mister Srilanka for Mister International in 2014. He has been part of several advertisements including Pothys, Malabar Gold, Sri Kumaran Thanga Maligai and many. H debuted with the 2018 Tamil film, Verenna Vendum, which largely went unnoticed.

9. Kavin

Kavin began his career in Star Vijay as a television actor. He appeared in the third part of the serial Kana Kaanum Kaalangal as Lord Shiva. Later on, he played the role of Murugan in the serial Saravanan Meenatchi. Further, he was approached to play the main lead in its sequel Saravanan Meenatchi (season 2). His role as Vettaiyan aka Saravana Perumal is breakthrough point of his career which made him popular among audience. He has starred in films like Sathriyan by S. R. Prabhakaran, and Natpuna Ennanu Theriyuma opposite Remya Nambeesan.

10. Sandy Master

A popular dance choregrapher, Santhosh Kumar aka Sandy Master made his name in the dance reality show Manada Mayilada in its first season. He has choreographed numerous shows in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu. He became the father of a baby girl last month.

11. Mohan Vaidhya

Mohan Vaidya is a Carnatic singer, violonist, actor and a show host. He is the elder brother of veena maestro, Rajhesh Vaidhya.

12. Mugen Rao

Mugen is yet another popular contestant, with over 1.7 lakh followers on Instagram. The model-turned-actor is known for his music videos that he uploads on his social media pages. His websites lists him as Mugen Rao ‘MGR’, a multi-talented creative arts practitioner.

13.Sherin

A model-turned-actor, Sherin made her big screen debut at the age of 16 with Darshan in Kannada in 2002. She shot to fame with her debut Tamil film, Thulluvadho Ilamai.  She was critically acclaimed for her performance in the 2003 crime thriller, Whistle. Her last Tamil film was Nanbenda (2015).

14. Losliya

A model-turned-news reader, Losliya speaks Srilankan Tamil effortlessly.

15. Reshma Pasupuleti

A popular TV serial actor, Reshma has anchored quite a few shows and has appeared in small roles in a couple of films.

Keeping true to the tagline, “This is not just a show, this is our life,” season 3 of Bigg Boss Tamil promises to showcase a diverse cast of personalities and people.

The controversy around the show has already started, as a case has been filed in the Madras High Court by an advocate Sudhan, who has sought a ban on the show, stating that the housemates wear revealing costumes and speak adult content, which turn out to be detrimental to the youth.  He has also pressed that the show should not be allowed to go on air without a censor certificate from the Indian Broadcast Foundation (IBF).  

Each episode of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 3 will be 60 minutes long on weekdays, and 90 minute long on weekends.
