It's Pandavar Ani vs Swami Sankaradas Ani this Nadigar Sangam elections

With the South Indian Film Artistes Association (Nadigar Sangam) set to go to polls on June 23, we had reported that a new team led by filmmaker Bhagyaraj K has emerged as the opposition to the incumbent Pandavar Ani of Vishal, Nassar, Karthi, Karunaas and Poochi Murugan.

Now, it's known that the new team has been named Swami Sankaradas Ani after the famous Tamil writer, actor, and playwright. With the contestants of all other positions already announced, it was widely speculated that Jayam Ravi would be named as the candidate for the treasurer post from the Bhagyaraj-led group. But now, it has been revealed that Prashanth will be contesting for this position.

While Bhagyaraj locks horns with Nassar for the post of President, producer-educationalist Isari Ganesh will take on Vishal for the General Secretary post. Poochi Murugan, who replaced Ponvannan from the Nassar camp, and Karunas are up against actors Kutty Padmini and Udhaya for the posts of the Vice-Presidents.

The opposition team lead by Bhagyaraj filed their nominations today. Addressing the press after the nominations, the filmmaker stated that it is with the blessings of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan that he is heading the team. He also added that the Pandavar Ani will not be able to do justice to the union after their split. He also promised to complete the construction of the Nadigar Sangam building within six to seven months if he is voted to power.
