It is official. Dhanush and Karthik Subbaraj are joining hands for a gangster-thriller film set entirely in the United Kingdom. Bankrolled by S Sashikanth of YNot Studios, the film will go on floors this August.

We had earlier reported that Malayalam actor Aishwarya Lekshmi will be cast opposite Dhanush in the film, which has music by Santhosh Narayanan. In a statement, the makers confirmed this news, and also announced the crew of the film. With Vivek Harshan in charge of editing, and Shreyas Krishna handling the cinematography, the yet-to-be-titled project is written by Karthik himself.

Meanwhile, Aishwarya is currently working on her Tamil debut, which is being directed by Sundar C. She will co-star with Vishal and Tamannaah.

It has been almost two years since the news of Dhanush collaborating with the Petta director first made the rounds. It was said that the director approached veteran Hollywood actors like Al Pacino and Robert De Niro for a role in the Dhanush starrer. Is this the same film or a completely different film? An official confirmation regarding the rest of the cast and crew is expected to be announced soon.
