Vijay is currently working on his third film with Atlee, after Theri and Mersal. This film, referred to as Thalapathy 63, went on floors in the city last month, and the team shot some important scenes at Binny Mills.

With the first schedule wrapped up a few days ago, the crew is currently shooting the next schedule at Prasad Labs and Napier Bridge, with a massive set constructed around the bridge. Now, the latest update is that Nayanthara, who plays the female lead opposite Vijay for the first time since Villu (2009), will be joining the sets in the third week of March. The actor previously worked with Atlee in the filmmaker's debut, Raja Rani.

Touted to be a sports film, Thalapathy 63 is said to feature 17 relatively new female actors, who will reportedly play athletes. Also starring Yogi Babu, Vivek, Kathir, Daniel Balaji, and Anandraj, the film is bankrolled by AGS Entertainment.

AR Rahman has been roped in as the music composer for this film, marking his second collaboration with Atlee after Mersal. Thalapathy 63 is scheduled to hit the screens on Diwali day.
