Jyotika and AR Rahman to be part of SJ Suriya and Amitabh Bachchan starrer, Uyarndha Manithan?

We recently reported that Uyarndha Manithan, which stars SJ Suryah and Amitabh Bachchan in lead roles, will go on floors on March 20. The film is expected to release in Tamil and Hindi under the titles Uyarndha Manidhan and The Great Man respectively.

Directed by Kalvanin Kadhali fame Tamizhvaanan, the film will be Amitabh Bachchan’s Tamil debut. The Thugs of Hindostan actor has reportedly given 40 days for the film and will shoot his portions in a single stretch. 

While the film was earlier announced to be produced by Thiruchendur Murugan Productions in association with Five Elements pictures, sources now tell us that the film will be bankrolled by Purple Bull International Private Limited. 

While the members of the cast are yet to be officially unveiled, rumours are rife that Jyotika, who was last seen in Kaatrin Mozhi, has been roped in to play the female lead. Jyotika and SJ Suriya had previously collaborated in 2000 when the latter directed the former in Vijay's Kushi, which went on to become a blockbuster.

It is also being said that talks are on with AR Rahman for composing the music for the film. ARR currently has films like Aadujeevitham, SK 14, Thalapathy 63, 99 songs, and Dil Bechara in the pipeline.

Jyotika, meanwhile, is currently shooting for a yet-to-be-titled woman-centric film, to be directed by debutant S Raj, and produced by Dream Warrior Pictures. There is also a buzz is that the actor's next, which will also star Bharathiraja, Bhagyaraj, and Parthiepan in pivotal roles, will be produced by Suriya'ss 2D Entertainment, and will be helmed again by a debutant.

SJ Suryah, on the other hand, is currently awaiting the release of Monster which is directed by Oru Naal Koothu fame Nelson Venkatesan. He also has Maya-director Ashwin Saravanan’s Iravakaalam in the pipeline.
