Rakshit Shetty's Avane Srimannarayana to have different release dates for dubbed versions

The much-anticipated Rakshit Shetty's Avane Srimannarayana, which received a U/A certification, will get a pan Indian release as announced. But the latest news is that the different language versions will have different dates. The original Kannada version of the period cop drama will first hit theatres on December 27, followed by a Telugu release on January 1. The Tamil and Malayalam versions will hit screens on January 3, and the makers planning to release the film in Hindi on January 16.

Releasing the film on different dates is part of the Avane Srimannarayana team’s strategy, says Pushkar Mallikarjunaiah. “The hype from the Kannada release will spread over to the other regions. Meanwhile, good marketing in other regions and word of mouth will get a good opening for the other language versions. That’s one of the reasons why we chose to go with different release dates, within a span of one week,” says Pushkar, who is jointly producing the film with HK Prakash.

Well-known distributors and producers have bagged the rights of Avane Srimannarayana in different languages. While Pushkar Films and Mohan Films distribute the original Kannada version, producer Dil Raju will be distributing Avane Srimannarayana in Telugu.

Screen Scene Entertainers, which released Vijay-starrer Bigil, has bagged the distribution rights of the Tamil version. Tomichan Mulakuppadam, the producer and distributor of Pulimurugan, will be releasing the film in Malayalam.

The makers are still in talks for the Hindi distribution rights, which will be confirmed by the end of December.

The period drama is set in the 80s and has Shanvi Srivastav playing the female lead. The cast also includes Balaji Manohar, Pramod Shetty, and Achyuth Kumar.

Karm Chawla has handled the cinematography of Avane Srimannarayana, which also has two music directors, Charan Raj and Ajaneesh Lokanath.
