Vijayashanti is set to comeback as a professor

The actor has signed on to play a pivotal role in the Mahesh Babu-starrer Sarileru Neekevvaru

Actor Vijayashanti is returning to films with the Mahesh Babu-starrer Sarileru Neekevvaru. The 53-year-old lady superstar, who was last seen in Naayudamma, has been signed to play a pivotal role in the film directed by Anil Ravipudi. Vijayashanti began shooting for her portions in Hyderabad today.

Anil welcomed the 90s star to the sets. "After 13 years, it's makeup time for Vijayashanthi garu. Nothing has changed in all these 13 years. Same discipline, same attitude and same dynamism. Welcome onboard Vijayashanti garu," he tweeted.

Vijayashanti replied: "Anil Ravipudi garu and Mahesh Babu garu... I duly honour the welcome."

Currently, shooting is progressing at the Nalsar University of Law in Hyderabad and rumour has it that Vijayashanti is playing a professor in the film set against the backdrop of Rayalaseema. Rashmika Mandanna is paired opposite Mahesh in the film.

Sarileru Neekevvaru. is slated for release during Sankranthi.
