Rajamouli's RRR postponed?

The filmmaker, we hear, is now planning to release the film in 2021 instead of 2020
Rajamouli's RRR postponed?

Speculations about the postponement of SS Rajamouli's period action-entertainer RRR have gathered steam on social media. Word has it that the film starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan has been postponed by six months and the Baahubali director is planning to release the film for Sankranthi 2021 instead of July 30, 2020.

It is no secret that the film's schedule has gone a bit awry after the team suffered a slight setback when British actor Daisy Edgar Jones walked out of the film citing personal reasons. In addition to this, the lead actors nursed injuries for a few weeks, which led to the cancellation of the Pune schedule. Thus, despite Rajamouli wrapping up a crucial action sequence featuring NTR in Bulgaria, we hear the film is running behind schedule, leading to much scrambling from the team to finish the project.

Set in 1920s pre-independent India, RRR is a fictional story based on Komaram Bheem and Alluri Seetharama Raju, the legendary freedom fighters from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, respectively. The film also marks the Telugu debut of actors Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, and Samuthirakani.

Produced by DVV Danayya, RRR is being shot in Telugu, and will later be dubbed into Hindi and the other South Indian languages.
