Actor Raashi Khanna has been approached to play the female lead opposite Allu Arjun in his new movie Icon. According to a well-placed source, director Venu Sriram is ready with the final draft following and has begun the casting process.
"Venu Sriram has already narrated the storyline to Raashi, who is keen to take up different roles that present her in a new light. She has liked the character, plot and is excited to be on board. She has also given her verbal consent to the part but is yet to sign on the dotted line," informs a source.
The story revolves around a stolen bike and the film’s tagline ‘Kanapadutaledhu’ exemplifies this credo. Produced by Dil Raju, Icon is expected to go on floors in October soon after Allu Arjun wraps up his next film under Trivikram Srinivas’s direction.
Raashi is busy with two projects. Venky Mama helmed by KS Ravindra (Bobby) and featuring Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya in the lead roles. The film is slated for Dasara 2019 release and the shoot is currently underway in Hyderabad. She is also shooting for Sai Tej-starrer Prathiroju Pandaage.
