Director KV Anand, known for his interesting commercial entertainers like Maattrraan, Ko, Anegan, and Kavan, is busy with the post-production works of his next project, Kaappaan, starring Suriya as an NSG commando and Mohanlal as the Indian prime minister.
Recently in an interview, KV Anand was questioned on why all his films revolve around heroes and will he ever make a heroine-centric film. The filmmaker, responding to the query, revealed that Kavan's script was rejected by many A-list stars, and subsequently, he had changed the entire screenplay to fit in a female protagonist. He further added that Nayanthara had agreed to play the lead role in the rewritten version, when Vijay Sethupathi expressed his interest to headline the project. KV Anand apparently went ahead with Vijay Sethupathi because of business reasons.
Meanwhile, Kaappaan is all set to release on August 30.
