Joker's cast and crew confirmed

Contrary to earlier speculations, Batman's father Thomas Wayne is said to be played by Brett Cullen and not Alec Baldwin

Warner Bros Pictures officially released the list of cast and crew for their upcoming film, Joker. The Todd Philipps-directorial stars Joaquin Phoenix in the titular role.

The first image from the film was recently shared online and shows Joaquin as Arthur Fleck, the original name of Joker, in what is considered to be an origin film for someone referred to as 'Batman's greatest nemesis'.

While Warner Bros did not reveal the characters that the actors are playing, contrary to earlier speculations, Batman's father Thomas Wayne is said to be played by Brett Cullen and not Alec Baldwin. Robert De Niro plays a talk show host, and Zazie Beets might be Sophie Dumond, the love interest of Fleck before he turns into the Joker. Marc Maron, Frances Conroy and Shea Wingham are also playing important roles. Scheduled for release next year, the film is produced by Philipps and Bradley Cooper under their Joint Effort Production company, alongside Emma Tillinger Koskoff.
