Karthi, who has wrapped up his portions for the rural entertainer, Kadailkutty Singam, is now shooting for his upcoming film with debutant director Rajath Ravishankar. Now, it has come to light that Dev is the title of this film. It is notable that the title of the film is also the name of Suriya's son.

Expected to be a mixed genre film comprising action, comedy and adventure, Dev marks the second collaboration of Karthi and Rakul Preet after Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru. The shooting of the film is currently taking place at Hyderabad, and the crew has plans to shoot a car chase sequence and a song in the city. Following this, the team will shoot in Mumbai, Himalayas, Europe and a major portion in the US.
Incidentally, Harris Jayaraj was in the news several weeks ago for his unique approach of travelling to the spots where the film was to be shot, to compose the album. Karthi is said to have undergone a major physical transformation for this film, as he is expected to play the role of a youngster in his twenties. Produced by Prince Pictures, Dev, whose cast also includes Prakash Raj and Ramya Krishnan, will feature Karthik in a special appearance.

Also, the Tamil and Telugu titles of Prabhu Solomon's trilingual Haathi Meere Saathi, starring Rana Daggubati and Vishnu Vishal in the lead, have been revealed as Kaadan and Arnya, respectively. Earlier, it was speculated that the film would be titled Kumki 2 as the film has an elephant playing a vital role, just like 2012 film. While Rana Daggubati, Kalki Kanmani and Zoya Hussain will feature in all the three languages, Pulkit Samrat's role in the Hindi version will be reprised by Vishnu Vishal in Tamil and Telugu.
