Aditi Prabhudeva has joined the sets of Vijayaprasad’s upcoming film Totapuri, even as she awaits the release of Suni’s Bazaar. The actor, who is a well-known face in the small screen, says the transition to cinema has been quite a challenge right from her debut in Dhairyam.
“It is an entirely different role, and for the first time, I have worked so much for a character. It was a tough task to master the mannerisms of the Muslim girl I play in the film. There were people who helped with the styling, namaz and language. I did a lot of prep work before I entered the sets,” she says about her role in the film, which stars Jaggesh in the lead. Totapuri also has Suman Ranganath playing a prominent character.
Interestingly, Aditi's role demanded that she gain six kilos, which took her one-and-a-half months. “Even though Shakila speaks fluent Kannada, the way it’s spoken is different and I had to work on it,” she adds.
Fortunately for Aditi, her other film with Chiranjeevi Sarja also required her to gain weight. “In that film, I play the role of a healthy village girl. So, it was a win-win situation for me,” she says.
